DVD case for Stephanie and John

Since Stephanie and John told me that they were planning on attending their friends’ (Aneetha & Elankum ) wedding today, I wanted to make sure that they get their DVD on the same day and that they also get it before they leave for their honeymoon.

How did John & Stephanie found me? Elankum booked me last year for his wedding, then he referred John to me, and that’s when I found out that they were actually co-workers. I am so grateful for such wonderful clients! Keep sending future grooms and brides my way!

Stephanie & John | Wedding at The Old Mill Inn, Toronto

(…and they have never broken up. Not even once.)

I got to shoot an absolutely fabulous and fun wedding last Saturday! The first time I met Stephanie, I could tell right away that she was quite shy. When I met her and John, for their engagement session, I couldn’t picture Stephanie to do funny things in front of the camera, but I was not worried about John. ( Click here to see their engagement session)

On their wedding day, I was quite worried that Stephanie would be just as shy as she was during their engagement session. I was soooo wrong! Stephanie turned out to be what I was not expecting at all! She was fun, full of excitement, ready to jump around and to make a foul of herself! She was working it out just like a pro! They were so ready to strike all kinds of poses!

They totally rocked it, and I’m absolutely happy that I got to be part of  their special day, and I hope to see them again in the near future.

Modern Senior Portrait with my little brother Mathew

My little brother happens to be graduating from high school this year, and I thought that it would be a really cool idea to have his senior portrait done. I also thought that it would be fun to see how well he does in front of the camera.

I must say, we both had an amazing time, and making each other laughing out loud. Actually, we never had this much fun before, between the two of us. I’m glad we did!:)

If you are a student, and wish to have your Modern Senior Portrait done or to know more about Modern Senior Portrait, please use the contact form to book your session.

What’s a Modern Senior Portrait?
It’s just like your graduation photo, except that you don’t have to dress up just like all the other kids, don’t have to do a fake pose with a fake smile. Modern Senior Portrait allows you to dress the way you want, wear your favourite jeans or that sweet jacket or your cutest little dress or those high heeled shoes that you always wanted to wear; basically clothes that represents you. To be yourself. In 20-30 years, which one would you rather show to your kids? Your senior portrait, or your modern senior portrait?

Photoshoot with Lindsey in Brampton

Lindsey and I have been friends since high school ( Lucky me! ). We did a quick photoshoot today, and it was definitely fun. I will also be doing a bridal shoot with her in two months or so. We already bought the dress and I can’t wait for the supplier to ship it. I’m really looking forward to it.

Sorry folks. Unfortunately we will no longer be offering the cheap looking DVD along with its cheap cd jewel case anymore.

Instead, from now on we will be better  (much better!) looking DVDs and sexier DVD casings to all our future clients. Each will have a unique design, personalized DVD label and their own little cute booklet for you to enjoy after getting back from your honeymoon!

What do you think?

Happy Mothers' Day + My parents 24th wedding annivesary!

Yup! My parents got married on May 10! Which happens to be also Mother’s Day this year!

Well, this post is about the cake. Kristin, from cakeordeath.ca, made a beautiful cake for my parents. It was a surprise of course, but my mom knew I was up to something on Saturday, because she knows that I don’t randomly take the car and go for long drives, but couldn’t figure out what I was up to. (Hi mom!)

Since it was a surprise, I couldn’t ask my mom anything, otherwise she would have figured everything out. But I knew that they loved dancing, and red signifies activity, strength, movement, passionate desire, which I why I went with it, and the black stripe to give it a modern look. Kristin also added her personal touches to it ( Hey, she’s the cake designer! Not me!), like the flowers, the silhouette of ballroom dancers, and the dots on the black stripes, and I think that everything looked absolutely fantastic! She definitely did a great job!

The cake was absolutely delicious! Unfortunately we couldn’t keep the bottom part, but we got to keep the top part. Hello daily dessert!

Thank you Kristin! You did a fantastic job! By the way, Kristin is married and is a mother of 2, and yet she finds the time to make gorgeous art pieces.

Engagement session with Stephanie and John

Happy Monday!

Last Saturday I had the opportunity to hang out with Stephanie & John! The weather was not very friendly, but that didn’t stop the two lovebirds from having fun during the engagement session! They were planning to do part of the photoshoot in Downtown Toronto, and to finish it off at The Bluffs in Pickering, unfortunately the rain stopped us from hitting The Bluffs, but we still managed to get some really great shots. Have a look.

Alen Abdula - It looks like they had a lot of fun!

Eliza Claire - Jeffrey, these are gorgeous! I especially love the first one, and the one of John jumping, with Stephanie looking as though she’s between his legs/beneath him. And the 7th photo. In fact, I love all the ‘blue wall’ ones! If I ever make it to Toronto to live, you’ll have to share the location of that blue wall with me ;-)

Jeannette & Will | Wedding at The Fantasy Farm, Toronto

I shot Jeannette and Will’s wedding on Friday at The Fantasy Farm, in Toronto, and the weather was absolutely fantastic! It was supposed to rain, but it didn’t, which was awesome, well it actually did, but it was just light rain. (phew!)

The Fantasy Farm was such a great location to shoot a wedding, and I would love shoot another wedding there if the opportunity shows up. What I really loved about The Fantasy Farm is the outdoors. In Spring and Summer, The Fantasy Farm would probably be thes best to get married at, as it will have tons of greens during that time. If there’s anyone who’s planning on getting married in Spring or Summer, I would definitely recommend The Fantasy Farm. However, they don’t have a website.

Jeannette and Will ( and family &  friends), thank you for being fantastic, fun and easy-going people!

hahahaha! I definitely had a good laugh at that one!

I almost laughed during the ceremony when I saw that photo! Jeannette, you’re awesome!

Engagement session with Jeannette & Will

We had to postpone Jeannette & Will’s engagement session twice due to thee very unpredictable weather of Canada. We finally got the chance to shoot last Saturday, and the weather was absolutely gorgeous! Or should I say, terrific!

They were such a fanstastic and super friendly couple to work with, and I couldn’t ask for anything more for my very first engagement session for 2009!

I wanted to shoot a bit longer to catch ‘The Golden Hour’, but I had to leave to meet up with my parents because we were celebrating our 5 Years in Canada on that same day. Nonetheless, the session was an absolute blast, and we definitely had a lot of fun and laughter! I am really looking forward to shooting their wedding next month!

Forbeyon Sample Album

I have waited at least a month to finally witness this amazing moment! I have seen other photographers’ albums, but to see and feel it is so much better. This is a 12×12, 20 pages, Smooth black leather + Scarlet weave and a 50″ sq Cameo. Seeing it online is one thing, but seeing it in person is just a whole new experience.

I really can’t wait to start designing more albums for my clients! If you would like to see it in person, please let me know.

Every Forbeyon album takes slightly longer to make than other album vendors because theirs are custom-made by hand, by real people (WHO KNEW!?)

My 3 Favourites photos from Aneetha & Elankum's esession

GEEZ! I really need to keep this website up to date. Whether you care or not, I’m still gonna tell you what I have been up to lately:P

I’ve ordered a sample album -  which should be here this week! Also ordered a sample guestbook. Not much to say about that one, but I sure hope so that the images look great.

I’ve also ordered samples canvas last night around 4am..or should I say early, this morning! I really can’t wait to see them. Yea, you probably already figured that I couldn’t sleep :\

2009 is going to be quite interesting for me. So far I have booked 3 weddings, which I’m very happy with since I only recently started out. Aneetha & Elankum actually referred the John & Stephanie to me, who happens to also be their friends. Referrals is one of those things that makes a photographer’s day, and I’m really thankful for having such great clients:)  And the funniest thing is that they are getting married just a week apart. I hope I will get to see John & Stephanie there , and I can’t wait to shoot John & Stephanie’s engagement session!

Anyway, I went back to Aneetha & Elankum’s photos, and I’m still wondering how on earth those photos didn’t catch my attention before. I really need to spend more time scrutinizing each and every single photo next time.

The first one is definitely my favourite from the entire set. I just love the look on Elankum’s face and the way Aneetha is leaning is just gorgeous! You guys were amazing that day!
